One day action-packed with SQL Server

In most of the organizations, accidental DBAs are the individuals who are often responsible for the SQL Server Performance. In the real world when we face any performance problems, we do not have the luxury to open PowerPoint and study theory. What helps us during the time of crisis are handy scripts which help us fix our performance problems. In this quick paced, demonstration-oriented learning session, we will see how we can immediately help our application with performance if we just know what exactly to do.

This demo-oriented real-world storytelling session will answer the questions which DBA and Developers often wonder about Performance Tuning and Query Optimization. There are some problems which have straightforward answers, but there are some problems which are often invisible or needs attention without even a problem statement.

Our 1-day long session (13.5.2019) will be divided into the following two major components.

Section 1: Server and Database Tuning and Optimization

In this section, we will primarily focus on all the basics to advanced concepts which are related to SQL Server and Database. There are quite many tips and tricks which are extremely easy to implement but not commonly known. We will discuss each of them in great details with examples.

We will learn how to write efficient and optimal queries with the help of execution plans.

We will be discussing many different topics along with the following important concepts:

  • Query Life Cycle
  • Joins and Queries
